We are actively seeking sponsors to help us convert our vehicle into an operational civilan ambulance that can be used both as a mobile clinic and a patient transport vehicle. If you think you could provide us with any of the equipment listed on our "Stuff We Need" page please get in touch. We actively promote all of our sponsors in all of our publicity and with stickers on our vehicle.
We thank the following sponsors for their kind contributions:
Thanks to the kindness of the Officer Commanding, a specialist team in the above army squadron will be preparing our ambulance for the expedition, and have even offered to give me some tuition in off-road driving. To have this level of expertise applied to the vehicle will ensure it has many good year´s service to give as an operational ambulance once it reaches Mongolia, so this is a tremendously valuable contribution. And the driving tuition will help ensure we can get it there without getting ourselves into too much trouble along the way.I was put in touch with Mike Coleman, the CEO of this fabulous charity, by Marshalls Special Vehicles Ltd who manufactured our ambulance. Aid to Hospitals Worldwide take decommissioned NHS medical equipment, recondition it, and then donate it to medical projects overseas. They've donated a stunning £12,000 worth of equipment to our project including a stretcher, defibrillator, sterliser, breathing apparatus, etc. Their contribution to this project is really inestimable in terms of how many lives it will help save. Our thanks also go to David, the operations manager, and Becs, who helped us throughout the process of working with A2HW.
Truma UK
Truma UK manufacture a selection of high-end mobile power systems and have made a tremendous donation of a 1000W intelligent inverter system. As the inverter can be powered either by the vehicle alternator or an external 240v A/C power source, it will allow all medical equipment to remain in the vehicle and on charge from a mains outlet between calls. This in turn will mean the vehicle can respond to incidents much more quickly without having to first load up the electrical medical components such as the defibrillator before attending an incident. A true life-saving donation.
Many thanks to the Uxbridge and Salisbury Halfords stores for each providing one high-power battery to provide the underlying power source for all the electrical equipment that we're installaing in the ambulance. Halfords carry a huge range of parts and tools and I think I'll be spending a lot of time there over the coming months as we prepare for our journey.
In 1706 Thomas Twining first set up shop on London’s Strand. He was known as the man who loved tea and he worked hard to bring it to the people. For Twinings today, tea is more than just a drink. It’s a way to calm down, to wake up, to spark an idea, to share a story. Exactly the things that Ajay and I will be needing and wanting to do at the end of each day's drive on our journey to Mongolia. Thanks to the kind support of Twinings, who have agreed to supply us with a selection of their many fine teas, we can be sure that no matter what our mood or circumstances at the end of each day, we'll have a tea that's just right. Noon Car Spares is a government-approved, environmentally-friendly, professional, family-run business that specialises in vehicle recycling and de-pollution. They have very generously agreed to provide us with a selection of parts including a large roof-rack and spare wheels. |
