Our Vehicle

Our vehicle is a 1978 ex-military Land Rover Series III 109 Ambulance with a 2.25 litre petrol engine.  It served 20 years in the British Army in the Royal Logistics Corps (informally known as the Really Large Corps), and was retired from the army in 1998. Since then it has been in the hands of private collectors who have exhibited it at military-vehicle shows. Below is a selection of photos of our ambulance.

The picture to the left is the ambulance in our driveway with my daughter Caitlin in the driver´s seat.

The ambulance body has four stretcher racks, two on the bottom and two on the top.  The upper two can be folded away as in this photo.  We will probably remove the upper stretcher racks as they won´t be needed for the type of use this vehicle will see in Mongolia.
