About Ajay

I've been a software engineer at Microsoft for the last 13 years. My wife and I have been up in the Seattle area all this time. Both of us are originally from India but are now happy to call this home. Numerous back-packing trips and 8 years of hang-gliding (we launch off the local mountains) has kept us in close contact with nature, which we enjoy. We also have two bundles of joy - Meera and Madhvi.

I am an avid reader of history and geo-politics. Central Asia has always fascinated me. If you are familiar with the history of India, we have deep ties to Central Asia - having exchanged people, ideas and culture. For example, a child's first haircut is a special occassion in India and I learnt recently that this is a big deal in Uzbekistan too.

Coming from a lesser developed country, I realize the the challenges of everyday life for the common person. To make matters worse these are times of great transition in many under-developed countries - older support systems have crumbled away and are replaced by a vacuum. It will take a while for these countries to work their way up. We have to help such societies in whatever way possible - raise awareness, donate time, effort, money, goods, etc. The ambulance we plan to deliver to Bayan will fill a vital need.

The dynamic trio - Sushma, Meera and Madhvi (in the saddle).
